Starting an Exercise Program
Before you start your exercise program, talk with your health care provider to make sure you do not have any health conditions that may limit your activity. Women with the following conditions may be advised not to exercise during pregnancy:
- Some forms of heart and lung disease
- Cervical problems
- Multiple pregnancy (two or more fetuses) at risk for preterm labor
- Vaginal bleeding
- Preterm labor during the current pregnancy
- Premature rupture of membranes
- Preeclampsia or high blood pressure caused by pregnancy
