Perlane

Perlane is a clear gel made of hyaluronic acid with a larger particle size than most hyaluronic acid fillers. It was approved by the FDA in 2007 for moderate-to-severe facial folds and wrinkles. Perlane-L now comes with lidocaine, a numbing medicine, in the syringe to improve patient comfort.

Treatment typically takes about 45 minutes and results last for six months. The most common side effects of Perlane are soreness and swelling at the injection site. Swelling usually subsides within three days. There is always a risk of bruising with any injection, so stay away from aspirin and such anti-inflammatories as Motrin, Ibuprofen and Aleve prior to your treatment. These over-the-counter products can make you more prone to bleeding and bruising.
