Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is great for people who have recurrent muscle pain and stiffness. It can at times be a little uncomfortable due to the depth of the work, but is very effective in reducing tightness and stiffness.

The massage is typically done without oils. It is used to reach deep muscles that cannot be reached with light work. A Deep Tissue Massage is a very slow style of massage.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is a very relaxing form of massage. It is aided by the use of very smooth river rocks that have been warmed. The heat from the stones allows for relaxation of the muscles on a deeper level. The stones are used as an extension of the therapist’s hands. They can be placed on areas of the body to help prepare them for deep work later.

NOTE: It is very important to stay very hydrated during any form of massage but even more important during Hot Stone Massage.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage helps soothe nerves, promotes relaxation and relieves strained back and leg muscles. It is great for women who have minor edemas in the feet and hands caused by the pregnancy. Prenatal massage helps reduce insomnia, tension, headaches and anxiety.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu is Japanese for “finger pressure.” It is a very common form of Eastern massage that originated in Japan in the early 1900s and is based on ideas of Traditional Chinese Massage. It follows the Meridian system.

Shiatsu is done with the client clothed, without the use of oils or lotions. It involves point work, stretches and other forms of massage. It is great work for people who need help relaxing or suffer from recurrent head aches, muscle pain or joint stiffness.

Sports Massage

Sports Massage was created for athletes to help keep them performing at their best. It can be used to ease muscle cramps, tension and stress before, during and after any event.

The massage is catered to the type of sport the athlete is involved in. It is a great way to help improve joint mobility.

Swedish Massage

Swedish is one of the most common forms of Western massage. It is best used to help reduce minor muscle pain and tension. It is a great way to ease daily stress and help with sleep disorders such as insomnia. Swedish massage helps increase circulation and blood flow, and aides in moving toxins out of the body.

When doing Swedish Massage, oils and lotions are applied to the skin. Specific oils and lotions can be used to help improve the skin’s tone and texture.
