Sodium

Sodium, or salt, is linked to high blood pressure. Typically, the more salt you eat, the higher your blood pressure becomes.

Choose and prepare foods with little salt. You can find a product’s salt content on its nutrition label. Different brands of similar products may contain different amounts of salt, so try to choose the brand that is lower in salt.

At the same time, eat potassium-rich foods, such as bananas and orange vegetables. Potassium may help lower your blood pressure.
